Name Change
In 2025, Delaware Senior Olympics is changing their name to Delaware Senior Games to stay compliant with National Senior Games Association (NSGA).
About Delaware Senior Games (DSG)
Founded in 1991, the Delaware Senior Games (DSG) is a not-for-profit organization, steered by a dedicated Board of Directors comprising over 20 members. Our mission is to promote a healthy and active lifestyle for senior adults through a blend of competitive and non-competitive athletic activities.
Our Activities and Programs
DSG organizes annual state games spanning 60 days in September and October, featuring 30 competitive sports, and over 50 events across various state venues. We also host non-competitive fitness activities throughout the year, including the Senior Group Challenge and Walk Delaware program. Additionally, DSG holds special events fostering community bonding and social interaction among members, families, and friends.
National and International Participation
As a proud member of the National Senior Games Association, DSG participates in biennial national competitions. Our athletes qualify in even-numbered years to compete in the National Senior Games held in odd-numbered years.
Recognition and Awards
We celebrate the achievements of our athletes by awarding Gold, Silver, and Bronze medals in our competitive games.
Membership and Participation Costs
An annual DSG membership is available for a nominal fee of $30, with individual and team sports fees applicable for competitive game participants. Participation in non-competitive fitness activities is free of charge.
Event Organization and Support
Each competitive sport and non-competitive fitness activity at DSG is coordinated by dedicated advocates responsible for organizing training, clinics, and informal competitions. These activities are mainly held at sport centers, schools, and other community locations.
Eligibility and Involvement
All individuals aged 50 and above are welcome to join DSG, regardless of their skill level. Competitive games are organized separately for men and women in five-year age brackets, starting from 50-54 up to 100+. To get involved with DSG, interested individuals can contact us via email or phone.
Why Join DSG?
Joining DSG offers numerous benefits, including enhancing fitness, fostering friendships, and having fun through engaging in sports and fitness activities. We encourage participation to improve quality of life, social interaction, and personal fulfillment.
